Its the Summer Of Loves 20th Anniversary which changed it all for at least a generation of Uk clubbers. I know what your saying now. the real anniversary is 2009, but it was the summer of 88 that this group of uk djs went to ibiza
to bring back what they heared from DJ ALFREDO.

well the rest is history.





Like BBC2, we feel quite affiliated to this summer.
So here in a series of little features on the UK Acid House Phenomenon we want to show some love & respect to those early days of idealism.

FJORDFUNK - EURORA out now

Fjordfunk is the moniker of Kangos Stein Massiv, we had a full LP in hand last year, that was circulating in the intimate rounds of the music connoisseur. After not being satisfied with all the treatments they got form labels, he & pal from
Mungolian Jetset decided to give it a go and as they believed in what they were doing and the musical style they both want to put on the map, they founded LUNA FLICKS.


PHONICA says:

"Fjordfunk offer up their second release for Luna Flicks which is bolstered by great remixes from Blackbelt Anderson and Brennan Green both of whom drop trippy spacy disco versions. We like a lot."

and we can only second that ! Found happy Fans from the likes of Peter Visti, DJ Cosmo and Aeroplane. It seems amazing whats been put out on LUNA FLICKS from start, but what could one expect from the oslo guys but pure goodness.






When visiting us in berlin we had a nice conversation with DJ Dolle Jolle of SHARI VARI fame, who also will be releasing a 12" on permanent vacation this fall.

He was saying that all the norway folks have been heavily influenced by dj strangefruit AKA paul from Mungolian Jetset who is 50% of the LUNA FLICKS label.

He mentioned Strangefruits radioshow on Norwegian radio to be the source of discoknowledge for all the fjordpeople and said his mix-cd named simply STRANGEFRUIT would be by far the greatest thing to have been influencing him.

The Black Generation is a film of Amos Poe and could be considered the earliest document of New Yorks emerging punk scene.
The movie was co-directed by Ivan Kral in 1976 and features a closeup into those who later got famed to the globe through CBGB.

as for the things that are being let to happen, wow it must have been a really intense year for Mike, Johnny, Ida, Ruth and all of IDIB crew, being played on various paris catwalk shows, getting all the right props from everyone and going on international tours. If you are from germany or france there will be a feature on Chromatics and Italians Do It Better on ARTEs TRACKS quite soon, so watch out. Also new artists have joined the Stable with TieDye and Invisible Congo People which diverse the Labels sound in a very pleasent way.

HOUSE OF PRINCE , TAL R at Sammlung ESSL

After his exhibition at Contemporary Fine Arts in Berlin, which was quite good and feelable, Tal R has opened at Sammlung ESSL and its one of our absolute favourites :

HOUSE OF PRINCE is an amalgation of small size paintings on scaffolds, wood and paper, sometimes collages or sheer gathering of materials in bright colours.

By the artists wishes, HOUSE OF PRINCE is not to be parted or exhibited in parts.
