The Rebirth of Disco , NME on GLASS CANDY

GLASS CANDY

The may issue of NME holds an article about Glass Candys Euro Tour and Italians Do It Better

here are some excerpts:

"With Johnny lost in music, Mike continued to run the burgeoning label according to his hardcore punk ethics: no marketing, no PR, no spermarket distribution. This hradline stance has only heightened their allure, with every 12-inch they press selling out in days.

Mike insists none of his groups are signed: "We don't have contracts. We give artists 100 per cent control."

Is there a philosophy to the label ?

"Not really. You can't force it, especially in the age of the internet. We just let whatever happens happen. We don't want to be flavour of the month, that everyone loves and then later they don't even care about. That's why we're low key." "

as for the things that are being let to happen, wow it must have been a really intense year for Mike, Johnny, Ida, Ruth and all of IDIB crew, being played on various paris catwalk shows, getting all the right props from everyone and going on international tours. If you are from germany or france there will be a feature on Chromatics and Italians Do It Better on ARTEs TRACKS quite soon, so watch out. Also new artists have joined the Stable with TieDye and Invisible Congo People which diverse the Labels sound in a very pleasent way.
